Wiz Khalifa digipak analysis
- Star motifs are used quite a lot throughout this digipak,
with the repeated logo through all three of these pictures, and with two of
them having the image of Wiz Khalifa on them it supports his image with fans
immediately being able to associate themselves with these motifs this is an
important feature on the genre theory claiming visual iconographies are
recognisable for audiences and encourages fans to pick up that particular album
up off the shelf rather than somebody else’s.
-The green smoke around his name and his face on the front cover has connotations of weed and Wiz Khalifa Is well known for smoking a lot of marijuana as he talks about it a lot in his lyrics and links in well with the cover of the album ‘rollin papers’ which also has connections with making money as ‘papers’ is a urban term for money used by rappers quite a lot, these are stereotypes that are strongly linked to the rap genre and are a part of the narrative of texts.
